About Cary L. Cardona Muniz
Cary is our Laboratory Manager, and is responsible for overseeing all laboratory operations supporting the company’s chemical processing such as anodizing, electroless nickel (EN) plating processes, passivation, chemical conversion and our new Green Pop plating on plastic process. She has degrees in Biology, including the study of analytical chemistry, industrial process control, and laboratory testing methods, was a member of the Cuban Geological Survey, and was a Professor at the Universidad de Oriente.
She ensures that all chemical baths are maintained within established chemical and physical parameters to produce high-quality products that meet engineering specifications, and industry standards such as Nadcap, MIL spec, ASTM and various customer proprietary specifications.
She monitors, analyzes, and maintains all chemical process baths used in cleaning, etching, anodizing, passivating, conversion coating, electroless nickel plating, and other chemical processing operations. Based on her findings, she directs what changes need to made to our chemistry tanks, as well as being responsible for the procurement of necessary chemicals. She writes the Laboratory Procedures for the new chemical processes added to our production lines and maintains detailed logs of all lab activities.
Continuous improvement is an important part of Aerotech’s culture, and Cary contributes to this through collaboration with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and process capability.
Additionally, Cary trains the laboratory personnel to support production operations, ensure environmental compliance, and drive continuous process improvement, and directs their daily tasks.
Cary has a strong curiosity for science that drives her to learn processes and analytical techniques. She is passionate about professional challenges and continuously seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge and develop new skills.
